Year 5

Reggie, Fletcher (Year 3), the Year 5 boys and girls, and William (Year 6) qualified for the Pennine Sports final. The route and competition was much tougher but they tried their best and ran really well. Our highest placings were Millie and Charles, finishing in 8th place in their races.
In October, some Year 4 children took part in ‘Run, Jump., Throw’ event which gave them the opportunity to try out a variety of athletics events with children from other schools in Mirfield. We hosted this at Crowlees, and the children had lots of fun throwing javelins, skipping and running amongst other activities.
Some of our Year 6 children have been trained as Sports Leaders. They will be attending sports events throughout the year to support younger children, as well as leading some activities at our school too.
Our sports clubs at school have been busy too with the football clubs (KS1 and KS2) each having over 30 children attending. The athletics club were preparing for the competition which is held in Autumn 2.
