Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice Challenge

Posted on December 13, 2021 in School News

Last summer (July 2021), as a school we supported the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice in their challenge to run ‘Around the World’.

Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice supports children with life shortening conditions and their families across West Yorkshire. The charity supports these families both at their hospice, Russell House, located in Huddersfield and through their hospice at home service, offering families a range of services from therapies to care. It costs around £4 million each year to run the charity and with very little government funding, the support of the community is vital.

As a school we decided to run at least 1000 miles as our contribution to the ‘Around the World Challenge’.  We asked the children to ask friends and relatives to sponsor them to take part in the challenge.

Our children raised an incredible amount of money for the charity – £5978.26! This was by far the largest amount raised by a single school during this event. Well done, Crowlees!

Overall, the ‘Around the World’ challenge raised £17,500 for the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice.
