Cross Country Pennine Sports Final – 15th October 2019

Posted on October 18, 2019 in School News

This afternoon, 23 children from KS2, who had qualified for this round of the cross country competition, attended the Pennine Sports final at Salendine Nook High School.

The playing fields were packed with athletes and spectators. Each field of runners was made up of at least 50 children.

The Year 3 children went first with George coming 3rd, Archie 6th, Oliver 26th, Charles 27th and Luke 36th. They have qualified as a team for the Kirklees final!

Millie finished 7th for the Year 3 girls and Maisy 35th. Unfortunately they missed out on qualifying.  Thomas finished in 25th in the Year 4 boys race. For Year 5, Charlie 26th, Oliver 28th, Matthew 30th, Kit 31st, and Bobby 49th. Super running in a field of over 60 runners, but sadly they haven’t qualified for the next round.  The Year 5 girls have qualified though! Poppy finished 3rd, Matilda 11th, Lauren 12th, Jessica 22nd, and Sophie 23rd.

Finally the Year 6 boys ran and finished: Finn 15th, Andrei 29th, Robin 35th, and George 38th.

Thank you to all our competitors for their hard work and excellent attitudes at both events. Well done!
