Charging & Remissions Policy

GOVERNORS’ POLICY ON CHARGING AND REMISSION FOR SCHOOL VISITS….

Educational visits are made to places of interest which are relevant to the children’s work within the National Curriculum.

The Governing Body realise the educational value of visits planned by the school which are related to topic work done over a period of weeks. They encourage parents to make a voluntary contribution towards the actual cost of such visits.

There is no obligation upon parents to make such a contribution and their child will not be treated differently whether they contribute or not.

Any charges which may be levied, e.g. the board and lodging element of a residential visit, will be remitted for families in receipt of income support or family credit. However, it must be pointed out that if sufficient voluntary contributions are not made then the visit will not be able to go ahead.
